Lucy McEvoy Supervision and Training
Hello!
My name is Lucy, and I’m a Social Worker with over ten years of experience working with young people, families, and communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. In recent years, I’ve transitioned into private practice, where I provide Clinical Supervision to Social Workers and human service professionals, empowering them to continue the vital work they do.
I’m also a mum to two beautiful children, which has taught me firsthand the importance of support for caregivers. Without the love and care of those around me, I wouldn’t be able to show up for my kids the way they deserve.
Clinical Supervision is much the same. Social workers, Counselors, Youth and Community Workers do incredible work. But that work is emotionally taxing. If those workers don’t get taken care of, they burn out and leave the profession. As a Clinical Supervisor I am here to provide care for those workers so they can continue to provide services to those who need it most. I am here to support you to grow professionally, to explore your triggers and overcome challenges. I’m here to support your self care and prevent you from burning out. The world needs you and I’ve got you.
I am available for Individual and Group Supervision, in person from my office in North Perth and online. I also provide online training to support the development of solid self care routines to ensure you stay in the workforce and don't burn out.
I promote a safe and inclusive space for all irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, religion or sexuality. All are welcome.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and waterways, Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, which we have the privilege of working, living and playing on and pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging.

Services
With a rich and diverse background in working with individuals who have experienced torture, trauma, and displacement, I bring a compassionate and skilled approach to my practice. I have extensive experience providing therapeutic support to individuals facing trauma, sexual assault, grief, and loss.
My clinical expertise includes helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and emotional regulation.
In addition to individual therapy, I have supported families in overcoming disconnection between parents and children or youth, addressing parenting challenges, and navigating complex systems including healthcare, education, and justice.
My experience also extends to group work, both therapeutic and educational. I have facilitated groups for multicultural youth, focusing on emotional regulation and fostering a sense of belonging, and led Sexual and Reproductive Health Education groups for young women from refugee backgrounds.
Through my work, I aim to create safe and empowering spaces where individuals and families can grow, heal, and thrive.
Individual Supervision
Individual Supervision
I offer personalised one-on-one supervision tailored to meet the unique needs of clinicians. Sessions are available face-to-face at my North Perth office, at your workplace, or conveniently online via Zoom.
Overview
I place a high value on quality supervision, recognising its critical role in skill development, self-care, and burnout prevention. I provide clinical supervision to social workers, human services professionals, case managers, community development workers, and youth workers.
My approach creates a safe, judgment-free space that encourages self-reflection and promotes meaningful discussions to enhance your practice.
Supervision is essential for developing professional skills, maintaining a high standard of work, and addressing challenges, concerns, or emotional triggers that may arise in your face-to-face client work.
As an external supervisor, I offer an objective and unbiased perspective that can be difficult to achieve within your organisation. Together, we can explore professional and workplace issues with clarity and develop strategies to navigate them effectively.
The support I receive in supervision means I can continue to do the work with clients while also taking care of myself.
Group Supervision
Group Supervision
I offer group supervision tailored to your needs, whether within existing teams and groups in your organisation or through online groups with like-minded clinicians. These sessions provide a collaborative space to learn, explore, and grow together, fostering shared insights and professional development in a supportive environment.
Overview
Group supervision provides a supportive and collaborative space for clinicians to share experiences, learn from peers and the supervisor, and deepen their understanding of themselves, their clients, and the communities they serve. It is a forum for exploring practice issues within a structured and meaningful framework, fostering intrapersonal awareness and strengthening interpersonal relationships.
As Beddoe & Davys (2016) highlight, group supervision offers opportunities to develop a broader understanding of practice, navigate practice contexts, and engage in interactive methods to enhance professional growth.
Group supervision with Lucy has been really eye-opening and integral to my practise. Lucy creates a safe and inclusive space for myself and my team to share and process the complex work that we do.
